The statue of Hachikō outside Shibuya Station in Tokyo remembers Japan’s most famous dog, renowned for his exceptional loyalty in waiting faithfully for his dead master to return for almost a decade. This year marks the centenary of Hachikō’s birth.

I dedicate this blog post to all dog owners, to remember that dogs have loyalty and fidelity. As the famous British veterninarian, Dr James Herriot said:

“If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.” -  James Herriot , All Creatures Great and Small

Apart from Hachikō, I will post photos of other Japanese dogs and organization.

The Nihon Ken Hozonkai (日本犬保存会, The Association for the Preservation of the Japanese Dog), commonly abbreviated to Nippo, is a preserver and maintainer of the registries for the six native Japanese dog breeds: the Akita Inu, Hokkaido, Kai Ken, Kishu, Shikoku, and Shiba Inu. Nippo also issues the Nippo Standard, which serves as a breed standard for the six native breeds.

Many people will recognize you as the man who walks many dogs in Yoyogi Park. Who is Nobuaki Moribe? Well, I’m 38 and I was born in Oita Prefecture, which is on Kyushu. I’m the CEO of a dog grooming company called Furi Furi, and I’m also a dog owner. I have five poodles, two Chihuahuas and a bichon frise. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/life/2023/01/27/people/nobuaki-moribe-born-happy-make-sure-love/?fbclid=iwar0b326r6ppkkhgyhtxhhl9wotxib9pt1l0-pdypy0dqgw3-hqadjlud23e

I wish people would realize that animals are totally dependent on us, helpless, like children, a trust that is put upon us.
